Mike Tyson: Ex-boxing world champion beats passenger bloody

Mike Tyson is in the headlines again for a violent crime. He hit a passenger on an airplane. Was he provoked?

Incident above the clouds: Mike Tyson (55) was involved in a bloody altercation on an airplane. As a recording shows, the former world boxing champion hit another passenger several times. According to media reports, he bled afterwards and allegedly later had to be treated by a doctor. The fight took place on a Jetblue plane flying from San Francisco to Miami.

: “Unfortunately, Mr Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while seated in a seat.” San Francisco police confirmed the fight and said the alleged victim refused to cooperate with authorities. Both men were released after their personal details were recorded. Now investigate.

Mike Tyson has had several run-ins with the law for violent crimes

Tyson was en route to a cannabis conference in Miami where he was scheduled to be the keynote speaker. The ex-boxer launched his own cannabis brand, Tyson 2.0, last year. Previously, Tyson had been involved in multiple acts of violence. Firstly, he was convicted of rape in 1992, and secondly, he had to go to prison after attacking two drivers after a car accident. In 2009, he was also briefly arrested at Los Angeles Airport for assaulting a photographer.

Tyson also became famous because of his dropout during the world championship fight against his competitor Evander Holyfield (59) in 1997. When Tyson saw his chances of winning dwindle in the course of the fight, he bit off a piece of his opponent’s ear. As a result, he was disqualified, suspended for several years and had to pay a fine of three million dollars.
