Actor Fritz Wepper will soon be allowed to leave rehab and “go home” after surviving cancer.
“The cancer is defeated”: Actor Fritz Wepper (80) was able to announce this wonderful news at the end of February in an interview with the magazine “Bunte”. Nevertheless, the star is still in a rehabilitation center on Tegernsee. At an event in Munich, brother Elmar Wepper (78) and his wife Anita gave an update. Fritz Wepper “should be released from his rehab at Tegernsee in 14 days and be allowed to go home again,” said his sister-in-law.
Actually, the “For heaven’s sake” actor should have been released from rehab at the end of March. But then the star tested positive for the corona virus, which has not yet made it possible to be released.
Cancer surgery a year ago
At the beginning of 2021, Fritz Wepper had to undergo tumor surgery, followed by five months in intensive care. In the summer of last year he came to the rehabilitation clinic at Tegernsee near Munich. Then, at the beginning of 2022, the good news: “I feel good physically and mentally. My wife and my children gave me so much strength. Their love saved me.”
Wepper and Susanne Kellermann (48) have been married since 2020, but they have been together much longer. The two have a daughter together who was born in 2011. Daughter Sophie Wepper (40) comes from his first marriage (1979-2019) to Angela von Morgen (1942-2019).
