Los Condores Gorge, La Rioja

QUEBRADA-DEL-CONDOR

Between Olta and Tama, in the south of La Rioja, there is an invisible path that crosses the Sierra de los Quinteros until reaching the Posta de los Cóndores, an old place that formerly served as a lair for warlords. Today it is renovated and converted into a tourist complex.

An excursion starts from there: they are approximately four hours of trekking or horseback riding that take you into a mountain landscape dotted with giant “ball” stones, streams and wild vegetation, a product of the hostile climate during winter. The goal is to climb up to “The balcony“, that once there you are on the edge of a precipice and facing the wonderful landscape of the Rioja plains to infinity.
