Not like that! Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan unpacks the verbal baseball bat against some “Walking Dead” fans. What happened?
Some fans of the AMC series The Walking Dead have drawn the ire of ex-villain Negan. Its actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (56) went to court on his official Twitter account with those who had previously verbally shot his co-star Norman Reedus (53). The reason: It became known that Melissa McBride (56) decided not to take part in a “Walking Dead” offshoot alongside Reedus as originally announced. Reason enough for some fans to blame the actor for it.
“Some of you have gone way too far”, . “Toxic. Attacking Norm for something he can’t do anything about? Melissa made a decision that was hers alone. She wants/needs a break. Respect that. […] Norm has given you more than anyone else.” In his eyes, the behavior of some so-called fans is therefore “just shitty”.
Fans blame Reedus
Broadcaster AMC had announced shortly before that McBride had dropped out of the planned project. The reason given was the scheduled filming location in Europe, which “is not logistically feasible for them at the moment”. But one hopes that Carol can celebrate her comeback “in the near future”.
But after this announcement, fan circles suspected that Reedus had something to do with the choice of location – because he is with the German-American actress Diane Kruger and wanted to be closer to her and their daughter?
“Actors Rarely Have That Power”
: “Norman had nothing to do with the choice of location. This decision was made purely because of the story, the ideas… and because of money.” The studio or broadcaster decides something like that, “not an actor. We can say yes and do it, or say no and don’t do it … maybe. Sometimes. If we’re lucky and don’t have a contract yet. Rarely does an actor have such power .”
The still unnamed offshoot was originally supposed to be about the two fan favorites Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. Despite McBride’s cancellation, the series is still in the planning stage and is slated to begin filming this summer. It will appear over the coming year.
The main series “The Walking Dead” is currently in its eleventh and final season. The final eight episodes will be released on Disney+ in fall 2022.
