In 2020 everything changed and so did the artistic paradigm: In the midst of the rise of non-fungible tokens, better known by their acronym NFT, the artists discovered this unique opportunity.
Artists can now truly monetize their works through NFTs, with no additional barriers or fees. This technology, according to the Woscoboinik sisters, opened the market to millions of artists who see digital artwork as legitimate.
“Wosco Art Gallery stems from, among other things, a deep frustration with how traditional galleries generally treat artists. The NFTs throw all the inequalities in the art world overboard and drive us to turn Wosco Art Gallery into a mixed reality gallery, that is, one that is physical and digital; and that really represents the artists who want to market their work”, reflected Ivana Woscoboinik, one of the founders of the gallery.

“The art scene is a small world. Many galleries charge you to exhibit your physical works and do not help you grow or truly represent you. Our mission at Wosco is to promote and educate all those fans who want to be part of this new world. Today many artists are already living from their productions thanks to the technology of NFTs”, pointed out Paula Woscoboinik and added that “it changed the way we see, consume and buy art. NFTs bring the artist closer to the buyer without that ‘medium’ that is the gallery”.
It is in this context that Big Bang emerges, an exhibition that fuses physical art with the world of NFTs and the crypto ecosystem, which is considered a great turning point in the history of art.
On April 30, Wosco Art Gallery opens its doors to a meeting of hybrid reality, where NFT works can be appreciated, which are authenticated and certified in the blockchain thanks to Media Network technology, a decentralized CDN that serves to distribute content and archives – as well as physical art.
“A CDN is a group of servers distributed in different geographical areas that accelerate the delivery of web content by bringing it closer to users. Today, Media Network is the only decentralized CDN that uses the blockchain instead of centralized servers to accelerate the arrival of this type of content”, explained Nicholas BarcanCOO of Media Foundation, and went: “Wosco Art Gallery NFTs benefit from the speed and cache of this decentralized CDN to download the .jpgs and display them with total clarity, respecting their resolution and improving the public experience.”
“All the art in the exhibition will be curated in detail since we always seek for the works to have a dialogue with each other and generate a concept through colors, details, stories and this time, technology. The Big Bang process is a major challenge for us”, clarified Ivana Woscoboinik.
Personalities from technology companies, startups, from the Argentine crypto ecosystem will participate from Big Bang; as well as artists, illustrators and designers. This meeting seeks to establish a fluid dialogue and create an artistic universe that is understandable not only for the crypto world, but also for the artistic world.
Wosco Art Gallery: who are the founders, what do they do and how did the idea come about
Paula Woscoboinik and Ivana Woscoboinik were born in the city of San Luis and since they were little, they watched their father collect classic art and their mother collect toys, who is the largest collector of unopened McDonald’s toys on a global scale. When they finished their secondary studies, they moved to Buenos Aires and both sisters began to shape their artistic mission: On the one hand, Ivana dedicated herself to musical comedy, acting, singing, painting and plastic arts. Paula, on the other hand, studied cinematography and dedicated herself to the digital plane, successfully becoming a digital artist.
With this experience, the sisters baptized a new artistic concept: “Loving you is the work of art”, a mirror that speaks of self-love and everything that surrounds the human being.

These unique pieces made by hand with different elements have a strong performance component; Well, as they have it written in the center, Loving you is the work of art. In this way, these works invite reflection by positioning themselves in front of them. Looking in the mirror is a work of introspection, contemplation, and perception. It is an exercise that leads to the recognition of oneself, of the place we inhabit and of those who are in front of us, behind us or next to us.
At the same time, everything we can see in our reflection and in what is reflected is framed in a mixture of artifacts that hide actions related to work, effort, dedication, creativity, satisfaction, joy and play. .
In 2019, they decided to rent a space and turn it into a gallery, as a personal need to continue sharing artistic works and concepts. This is how Wosco Art Gallery was born, a young and innovative gallery that stands out for its strong interest in contemporary neo-pop art.

This space, located in an important corner of Palermo Hollywood, was born from an immense need to put the voice of artists of this generation on the Buenos Aires scene. In this way, through its work it seeks to promote creators who express themselves through plastic languages as well as with various technologies and global resources such as Instagram filters, QR codes, projections and NFTs.
From its beginnings in late 2019 to the present, Wosco Art Gallery is run by the two artist sisters. This peculiarity presents a paradigm shift within the art market.
As professionals in the activity, they assumed the social commitment to promote the development of artists, curators and other specialists in the field. In turn, through exhibitions and cultural events, they took on the responsibility of promoting the development, exchange and interrelation of the arts, freedom of expression and knowledge.
This last point leads Wosco Art to also be conceived as a space for experimentation and study of various disciplines of thought such as sociology, philosophy and the artistic impact that today modifies it.
