Landbauer elected head of FP Lower Austria for the first time

The 35-year-old, who has been in this position since 2018, received 94.59 percent approval. As a goal for the state elections in 2023, Landbauer stated to break the VP absolute. FP boss Herbert Kickl emphasized in his speech in Wieselburg (Scheibbs district): “This country is far too beautiful to leave it to the VP and their power games.”

Landbauer came to 315 of 333 valid votes at the 35th regular state party conference in the Wieselburg exhibition center. A total of 340 delegates cast their votes. In an initial reaction, the country manager was “overwhelmed” by the result. The approval was thus significantly higher than that of Landbauer’s predecessor Walter Rosenkranz, who received only 68.22 percent at the regular state party conference in Wiener Neustadt at the end of June 2018.

Landbauer was appointed deputy federal chairman at the FP party congress in Wiener Neustadt just a week ago and was the only candidate for the post of head of state. The election proposal was introduced on Saturday by Provincial Councilor Gottfried Waldhusl.

At the state level, it is important to bring a fresh blue wind into the black landscape, emphasized Landbauer at the party conference with around 400 participants. The goal of the FP is that the absolute majority of the VP is history after the state elections planned for 2023. Waldhusl also mentioned a plan to become number two in the country in the future.

Kickl said of Landbauer that he was “still young, but with incredible political experience”. Looking at the blue result in the 2018 state elections of 14.76 percent, the FP boss, born in Kroner and elected Lower Austria, said: “There is a lot more possible.” It is “possible and necessary” to break the absolute of the People’s Party.

Freedom was “threatened more than ever by the corona regime of VP and Greens,” said Landbauer. It is “non-negotiable” and “the greatest good” that needs to be defended and protected, stressed the FPN boss. “Freedom cannot be spiked. Freedom cannot be tested,” said the 35-year-old.

Backing from both Kickl and Landbauer was given to Waldhusl, who was charged with abuse of office in connection with the Drasenhofen asylum accommodation. Waldhusl himself expects, according to his words, “a battle in court”. “If a responsible state councilor who wants to protect its own people” is accused, “then things go wrong here in the state of Austria, and we will definitely not put up with that,” stated Landbauer. Kickl emphasized: “Gottfried was absolutely right about his accommodation option.”

Waldhusl referred to the indictment at the beginning of his speech. He would have to answer in court, “because I have fulfilled my work, my obligation as a national councilor”. Waldhusl wants to continue to pursue a tough course on asylum and integration.

The farmer’s deputies are also elected. The proposal of the board is on Abg. Christian Hafenecker (Central Room), Abg. Edith Mhlberghuber (Mostviertel), Abg. Christian Lausch (Weinviertel), Provincial Councilor Gottfried Waldhusl (Waldviertel) and General Secretary Abg. Michael Schnedlitz (industrial district), who is the new “Vice”. The previous regional chairman, Karl Wurzer, also applied.

As he did at the federal party congress a week ago, Wurzer made a statement for dissatisfaction and criticism from the speakers who followed him. As a difference to Landbauer, he mentioned that he preferred an “upright character with less good rhetoric” than a slim-fit personality with less eloquence.

From September 2018, Landbauer was initially active alongside Rosenkranz as head of FP Lower Austria. When Rosenkranz moved to the Ombudsman Board on July 1, 2019, he became the sole regional chairman.

Speakers also referred to the songbook affair several times on Saturday and praised farmers for their behavior during the cause. The top candidate of the FP in the state elections in January 2018 returned the following September after an almost eight month break from politics because of the Nazi songbook affair with the Germania fraternity. According to the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, Landbauer was questioned as a witness when the investigation was closed in August 2018.
