Robert De Niro is already in Argentina to film with Luis Brandoni

Today, images emerged in the media in which both actors can be seen together with the series team touring possible locations in the city, such as the National Museum of Fine Arts on Avenida del Libertador at 1400.

As sources from the Disney streaming platform confirmed to Télam, the recordings of the series began on Monday, April 25, in different Buenos Aires scenarios.

De Niro’s character will be a foreign friend who Brandoni will play, in a bond that somehow emulates the one that unites the two actors in reality. It is that as “Beto” publicly reported in recent days, their friendship relationship was born more than 30 years ago at the request of mutual acquaintance with Lito Cruz and has been going on for many years.

For De Niro it will be the second experience filming in Argentina, after he was in the ’80s for “The Mission.”

The New Yorker, great Interpreter of titles such as “Taxi Driver”, “Raging Bull”, “The Godfather: Part II” or “Cape of Fear”will join the recordings in the coming days in a role that, although not the main one, will appear in different scenes of “Nada”.

De Niro’s work with the Cohn-Duprat duo will mark a new collaboration between the filmmakers of “The Illustrious Citizen” with leading international figures, after the recent “Official Competition” with Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, or the series of next premiere “Limbo? Until I decide”, with the Spanish Clara Lago.

“Nada” will be a five-episode dramatic comedy centered on Manuel (Brandoni)a gastronomic critic and a benchmark of Buenos Aires culture who suffers a personal crisis due to the death of the domestic worker he had for 40 years.

With no ability to fend for himself around the house, and financially crippled after squandering his money, the entry of a new, younger employee into his household will mean – an aspect that Cohn and Duprat have explored in several of their previous titles – a clash both generational and cultural.

Some of the confirmed cast members are Daniel Aráoz, Gastón Cocchiarale and Enrique Piñeyro, while Guillermo Francella is also expected to have a role. The script was written by Cohn, Duprat and Emanuel Diez, while the production also has the culinary advice of chefs Francis Mallmann and Narda Lepes.
