The campaign, by its own description, purports that “since Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project. They must not ignore the suffering of Heard’s victims and not they should exalt a domestic abuser.”
The petition wants to be based on elements that have been addressed in the defamation trial between Heard and Depp to classify the actress as a “domestic abuser”. It should be remembered that this is the second legal instance between Heard and Depp after the lawsuit that the actor filed against The Sun. But, unlike that process in which Depp sued the tabloid for calling him a “wife beater”, here the interpreter of Jack Sparrow is directly accusing Heard.
In the DC movies, Heard plays Mera, the princess of Xebel and love interest of Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and, in addition to appearing in Aquaman and the next Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomthat character appeared in the film version and the cut of Zack Snyder from Justice League.
