For the cinema thriller “Tactics”, crime scene inspector Harald Krassnitzer changes sides for the first time in a long time: He plays a prisoner who, together with two colleagues in prison, takes three women hostage in order to extort money and an escape helicopter.
For the film, the directing couple Hans-Günther Bücking and Marion Mitterhammer, who is acting herself, were inspired by a true incident in the Graz prison. This leads to an oppressive power play on the phone in the film: the man on duty (Simon Hatzl) tries, with apparent naivety, to tug at the nerves of his counterpart and buy time until the specialists come, the vain but intelligent leader of the hostage-takers wants to use force to kill him Blackmail your way to freedom. A claustrophobic chamber play in dark images that relies on the artistry of its performers.
