Charléne of Monaco: This is her contract with Prince Albert

Princess Charléne has only recently returned to Monaco and has even made her first official appearance in a long time. Details of a contract between Prince Albert and her have now become known.

Charlène of Monaco made her first public appearance in over a year at the Monaco E-Prix on Saturday 30 April. Together with her husband, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and their two children, twins Jacques and Gabriella. But Charléne apparently wants to be paid for these appearances in the future.

As the French magazine reports, Charléne is said to have negotiated a contract with Prince Albert before her return. It’s a strictly confidential document. One of the conditions was that Albert would give her “12 million euros a year”. The Austrian news platform also reports on the other clauses.

Charléne of Monaco: An explosive contract

The same goes for Charléne’s sister-in-law Caroline, Prince Albert’s sister. The contract should state that she will no longer have to meet the 65-year-old in the future. In the past there has always been speculation about an enmity between the two women. Caroline’s dealings with Charléne, who was twenty years her junior, are said not to have been particularly friendly.

There are also details to report about the two children: The seven-year-old twins are to stay with their father in the Principality of Monaco, while Charléne is to move to Geneva, Switzerland, with her own staff. For official appearances, however, she should come back to Monaco regularly.

In the spring of 2021, Charlène traveled to her native South Africa. There she was supposed to support an animal welfare organization and attend the funeral of the Zulu king. The princess, who was originally supposed to stay away for ten days, needed seven months before she could return to the palace. And: A short time later she left Monaco again to be treated in a clinic in Switzerland. After that, the princess remained silent for a long time, and various rumors kept circulating.

In March 2022, Charlène returned to Monaco after a year’s absence. And on April 30th it made its first official appearance at the Monaco E-Prix. According to the contract, there should be more performances of this kind in the future. No statement has yet been heard from the palace.
