Davina and Shania Geiss: They would miss that in their luxury life

Davina and Shania Geiss can be seen in a new docu-soap. In an interview, they talk about their luxury life and their plans for the future.

Davina (18) and Shania Geiss (17), together with their parents Carmen (57) and Robert Geiss (58), have been in front of the camera for more than ten years for the documentary soap “Die Geissens”. Now the sisters get their own show on RTLzwei. In six new episodes “Davina & Shania – We love Monaco” (from May 9th at 9:15 p.m.; from May 23rd at 8:15 p.m.) they let themselves be accompanied in their noble life in the principality.

In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the two tell how their documentary soap differs from “Die Geissens”, how they experienced moving out of their parents’ house and how they are now financially on their own two feet. They also reveal how they deal with public criticism, what they value most about their life of luxury and what plans they have for the future.

Why did you feel like starting your own docu-soap with your parents alongside the show?

Davina Geiss: We wanted to do something of our own and are very happy that it worked out. The timing was just right because I’m done with school now and Shania will soon be too. In addition, we can now also have a say in the content of the show. Of course, that went perfectly with the move – and now everyone will find out a lot more about our cool life here in Monaco!

What distinguishes the new show from “Die Geissens”?

Shania Geiss: Davina and I are now the main characters, of course Mom and Dad also appear sometimes and have supporting roles, so to speak. We now tell and show our lives from our point of view, what we do all day and how we live our independent lives.

You have been followed by cameras for eleven years. How did you experience the shooting as children, has it become a habit for you now or is it still funny sometimes?

Davina: Actually, it’s not funny to me anymore. It is part of our everyday life. Of course we also have breaks from shooting and holidays, but we love being in front of the camera for “The Geissens” and now even more for our own.

The new docu-soap is about your move. How difficult was it for you to say goodbye to your parents?

Davina: Even though I’m the older one, it was still difficult for me. There are so many memories attached and somehow we still remain daddy’s little girls. But I’m really looking forward to what’s to come.

Shania: It’s like 50/50. On the one hand we are kind of sad that this era is ending and grateful for everything that mum and dad made possible for us. But I’m super happy to be able to stand on my own two feet and live alone with Davina.

How has your relationship with your parents changed since you moved out and how has your everyday life changed?

Shania: I would almost say it’s good right away, because when we don’t see each other we call and facetime a lot.

Davina: And when we meet again, which is still often enough, we always have funny things to tell. Mom and Dad from Dubai, St. Tropez or their apartment in Monaco and we from us. I think it’s good for our relationship that we’re on our own two feet now.

Shania: Our everyday life is a little more independent now, we have a lot of fun and don’t always have to ask permission for everything, or say what we’re still doing today and where we are.

Financial independence also plays a role. How did you learn to manage money?

Davina: Dad taught us a lot. We already know quite well how to manage our money and how to invest certain things. Some items that you buy are also a kind of investment.

What do you say to people who criticize your luxurious lifestyle?

Shania: We were able to learn a lot from Mama, because she’s constantly being criticized and showed us that you don’t need to take it to heart. We are simply grateful for everything that mom and dad made possible for us. And a bit of shopping is also fun and puts you in a good mood. We’re really not that different from other girls our age

Without luxury, what would you miss most?

Davina: I think if we stopped traveling and seeing the world as much, I would be sad.

Shania: I think so too, shared experiences with mum and dad are always the best. This also includes cool gifts at Christmas that we give each other.

What are the pros and cons of living in Monaco?

Shania: A huge advantage is of course our beautiful apartment and the proximity to the sea!

Davina: We’ve also made a lot of friends here. We simply know each other well here.

Could you also imagine living in Germany?

Davina: I could imagine it, but it wouldn’t be my favorite right now. Especially when I compare it with Monaco: The sun always shines here and you can take the boat straight out.

Shania: Besides, our friends are here. Germany maybe someday to work or study. But Monaco and St. Tropez are our home. That’s why we’re staying here for now.

What makes you different in character and when do you have a fight?

Davina: When you’re older, you sometimes have to assert yourself a bit.

Shania: We usually argue about it, for example when we both want the same bag. We’re not fans of the other person buying something after you. But otherwise we get along great, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to live together.

Davina: Also, our interests are different, Shania is very interested in art and that is her biggest hobby, while I like to pursue fashion design.

How does your future look?

Davina: For the time being, we definitely want to stay in Monaco and continue shooting for the two soaps here and while travelling. Shania wants to continue her education in art and I would like to follow in Dad’s footsteps someday. I am very interested in real estate.

And what about love?

Davina: The friend that comes past dad still has to be baked (laughs).

Shania: Dad has high standards for us, but we sisters are simply a great duo. That’s why we moved out together.
