Calum von Moger: Former Mr. Universe is in a coma after surgery

Australian actor, bodybuilder and former Mr. Universe Calum von Moger is in an induced coma fighting for his life. He was reported to have fallen from a second floor window. He seriously injured his spine.

Australian actor and bodybuilder Calum von Moger, 31, suffered a serious spinal injury on May 6 and required major surgery, according to multiple media outlets.

Accordingly, Moger is said to have fallen out of a window on the second floor and is now in an artificial coma. Friends allegedly claimed he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the fall, but this has not been confirmed. Moger was reportedly recently evicted from his family home in Australia.

His latest Instagram post shows him in two photos side by side – one from 2018 and one from 2022. He wrote: “Four years ago on April 19th I tore my quadriceps completely off the bone. I could Not running for 8 weeks and had to start bodybuilding all over again. 2.5 years later I won the NPC Mr. Universe (…). If I can do it, so can you.”

Calum von Moger embodied the role of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film “Bigger”. Because of his resemblance to the Austrian, he is also called Arnold 2.0. Moger hails from Geelong in Victoria and has Austrian and Dutch roots.

Earlier this year he was pulled over by police in Melbourne for not having the correct number plates on his vehicle. In addition to methylamphetamine and cannabis, the officers also found testosterone preparations and anabolic steroids on him.

In March, he penned an emotional post on Instagram: “Everyone has a past. We’ve all been through tough times. I admit I’ve screwed up many times. But I don’t care if I think about the past negatively stop. All I care about is learning from my mistakes and becoming a better person. I’m trying my best to stay strong, but I have my days, too,” he wrote. And further: “The media will always focus on the negative news to get our attention and spread gossip. But the positive achievements I’ve made in my life far outweigh the mishaps I’ve had in mine I can swear that. However, all I can ask is that you forgive me so I can move forward on the right path.”
