Fabiana Cantilo was declared an outstanding personality and sang with Fito Páez in the Buenos Aires Legislature

In this piece she was accompanied by two of her musicians: Marian Pellegrino (guitar) and Cay Gutiérrez (piano).

Before beginning the recital, the singer received the diploma of outstanding personality from the hand of the legislator Maria Luisa Gonzalez Estevarena and the Minister of Culture of the City, Henry Avogadroand then handed him over to his mother, Silvina Lurowho was in the audience, in the front row, along with the artists Fernando Noy, Eugenio Cuttica, Julia Zenko and Hilda Lizarazu.

The second song that Fabiana performed was “Súperheroes”, by Charly García. “This beautiful song is from the sel gentleman who told me ‘you, come here’, and that was like saying ‘get into rock'”, said Fabiana, remembering the invitation Charly made to her in the early ’80s to participate , along with the Bay Biscuits, from Serú Girán’s recitals.

For this moment in the repertoire, the rest of the musicians took to the stage: Darío Casciaro (vuitarra), Silvio Ottolini (percussion) and Marisa Mere (vocals).

The third piece was “The Battle”, composed by her and released in 2021.

“This is what I think has happened in the last two years: a battle between good and evil,” said Cantilo as he picked up the guitar to give the first chords, perhaps in reference to the pandemic.

Later, the rumor that was circulating among the public about an unconfirmed special guest was confirmed: Fito Páez entered the Golden Room.

In the first place, Páez read a text that she wrote especially for the occasion and in which she defined her friend as a “free woman” who “radiates joy and communion” but who also “knew how to be the brave girl of the place”.

The musician also assured that Cantilo’s “velvet voice” “intoxicated several generations.”

“Sister of all my days, sexy girl, Cleopatra from Buenos Aires, the one who retraced addictions with her head held high,” she said in another section of her speech, adding that Fabiana was “the only person with whom Charly (García) deigned to improvise”.

Cantilo, Páez and the rest of the musicians then closed the concert with “Revolution”, by the legendary British band The Beattles.

The initiative to declare Fabiana as an outstanding personality was approved unanimously, that is, with the vote of all political spaces, in November of last year.
