The American actor Bruce MacVittie is dead. MacVittie died at the age of 65 last Saturday in a hospital in Manhattan, New York. MacVittie is best known for his recurring roles in hit series such as “The Sopranos” or “Law & Order”.
Most recently, the Providence-born actor appeared in the Netflix miniseries When They See Us. MacVittie began his career in the 80s on Broadway, where he was on stage alongside Al Pacino (82). He later embarked on a film and television career and also acted in cult series such as “Miami Vice” or “Sex and the City”. But he was also seen on the big screen, including in the Oscar-winning Clint Eastwood feature film “Million Dollar Baby” or in the horror shocker “Hannibal” alongside Anthony Hopkins (84).
Al Pacino speaks out on Bruce MacVittie’s death
In a brief statement by the New York Times, Pacino said of his colleague’s death: “We will miss him.” MacVittie was “the embodiment of the struggling actor in New York City” and made it big. MacVittie is survived by his wife Carol and daughter Sophia. The cause of death has not yet been announced.
