Brooker himself cast doubt on the future of “Black Mirror” two years ago, telling the UK’s Radio Times magazine at the height of the pandemic that, “Right now, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about crumbling societies. so I’m not working on one of those. I really want to revisit my comedic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts meant to make me laugh.”
Clearly, a deal has finally been struck, and Banijay Rights, the company’s distribution arm that owns both the format and the rights to the finished “Black Mirror” tape, has licensed its hit show to Netflix.
