Amber Heard says she was scared of Johnny Depp on her honeymoon. But there are also allegations against Heard – from her former best friend.
Johnny Depp’s legal team continued their cross-examination of Amber Heard. After a hiatus of several days, the defamation trial between her and Depp continued in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. When questioned on the witness stand about love letters she wrote to her then-husband and whether she was afraid of Depp, Heard testified: “This is a man who tried to kill me,” reports the “”.
Depp’s legal team questioned Heard about details about an alleged incident in Australia in 2015, in which Heard claimed her then-husband sexually abused her. It was also about the fact that Depp lost part of his finger in that incident. Depp’s attorney asked Heard why there were no medical records of the injuries she allegedly sustained during the fight with Depp. To which Heard replied: “I did not get treatment.”
Amber Heard vs. Johnny Depp: New details from the trial
When Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, noted that Heard appeared unafraid of Depp despite the alleged assault, Heard responded, “This is a man who tried to kill me. Of course that’s scary. But he’s also my husband. “
As “” reports, Heard was already afraid of Johnny Depp during their honeymoon: On Monday, she claimed that he attacked her on board the Orient Express in Asia after their wedding in February 2015 by hitting her in the sleeper compartment and holding her by the neck . “He pressed my neck against the wagon for what felt like a very long time.” She said she remembered thinking he might “kill” her.
When asked by her own attorney, Heard said her allegations that Depp physically, emotionally and sexually abused her were true. “He knows he’s guilty – why can’t he look at me?” said Heart. (Early on in the trial, Depp’s attorney said he avoids eye contact with his ex-wife to keep his promise made in 2016 that Heard would never see his eyes again.)
Podcaster and producer iO Tillett Wright also testified via video testimony. Wright was friends with both Heard and Depp during their marriage. Wright stated he witnessed several troubling moments between the then-couple, including an argument during a phone call that ended when Heard screamed and dropped the phone. In another case he described, Depp asked Heard, “What if I pluck your frigging hair out?” as reported.
Wright also recounted a conversation with Depp in which Depp said of Heard, “All she’s got is her looks.” Wright also testified of Depp’s drug and alcohol use: “The substances that I saw with my own eyes were cocaine and hard liquor, marijuana, ecstasy, mushrooms, wine, probably some other things, but these are the which immediately come to mind” cocaine and any kind of alcohol would bring out a very, very ugly side of him, “very misogynistic and cruel”.
But there are also allegations against Amber Heard: Raquel Pennington, Heard’s former best friend, also testified. As Heard’s witness, she also reported that she and Heard got into a heated argument in which the actress hit her. Pennington’s testimony continues the following day.
