Prince Charles (73) and Duchess Camilla (74) tried beer with water from icebergs thousands of years old at the end of their first day in Canada.
The royal couple poured themselves a pint in St. John’s, Newfoundland on Tuesday (local time). “Very good,” praised Camilla as she tasted it. The water for the special beer comes from icebergs that drift past the eastern Canadian province every year.
Justin Fong, co-owner of the brewery, was delighted to welcome the famous guests. “They have given us all great memories of their time here,” said Fong. “We’ve been planning the visit for two months and it went smoothly, so we’re very satisfied.”
The British heir to the throne and the future queen are traveling in the Commonwealth state on behalf of Charles’ mother Queen Elizabeth II. The trip is in honor of the Queen’s 70th jubilee as head of state of Canada.
