New Details In Johnny Depp’s Amber Heard Defamation Trial Raise More Questions: Did She Hit Him?
New details have now come to light in Johnny Depp’s (58) defamation process against Amber Heard (36). In cross-examination with Depp’s lawyers, the US actress denied her ex-husband’s allegations of being violent and manipulative. However, she later revealed that she had also laid hands on the actor herself.
The court followed the ex-couple’s argument through an audio recording on Tuesday. the two are said to have verbally attacked each other, including violent insults. Heard then admitted to having “insulted Depp with horrible, ugly words”: “We spoke to each other in a really horrible way.”
“This is a man who tried to kill me”
In cross-examination, Heard was finally asked by Depp’s lawyers whether she had ever assaulted the actor. “I never attacked Johnny. I couldn’t,” Heard said initially.
Another recording was then played in which the actress admitted to having “beaten” Depp. However, she did so to defend herself, Heard said. When asked if she was “not afraid at all” of Depp, the actress replied, according to Variety, “This is a man who tried to kill me. Of course it’s scary. He’s my husband too.”
Trial Depp vs. Heard
Johnny Depp has sued Amber Heard for $50 million (€46 million) over a 2018 post she published in the Washington Post. In it, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence.
