It’s a very special event – the 40th birthday. This also gave Duchess Meghan a very special idea to help women re-enter the world of work.
Duchess Meghan launched a mentoring program for her 40th birthday.
«When thinking about my 40th lap around the sun, I asked myself: what if we would give up every 40 minutes to help someone else or to look after someone in need? And what if we would ask our friends to do the same? ”Wrote Meghan in a post on the website of the Archewell organization that was jointly founded with Prince Harry.
She asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, and artists to invest 40 minutes of their time to help women re-enter the world of work.
Millions of women – including more than two million in the USA – have lost their jobs as a result of the corona pandemic. It is often more difficult for them than for men to find their place in the job market again. In addition, many of them shouldered most of the unpaid work.
On the “Archewell” page, volunteers can register as mentors and indicate how they would like to invest their 40 minutes.
