“I love my body,” enthuses Angelina Kirsch and reveals her best tips and tricks for all things lingerie.
Around 80% of German women wear the wrong bra size. A problem that Angelina Kirsch (33) also knows. The successful Curvy model helped out in his mother’s laundry store at a young age. “During her apprenticeship, she learned how laundry should sit and always give me good advice,” the 33-year-old recalls. “I can say exactly what suits me and what doesn’t.” Just in time for Underwear Day on August 5th, the model wants to draw attention to the problem with the lingerie company Lascana and reveals her tips and tricks in an interview.
What are your top tips for buying a bra?
Angelina Kirsch: It is important to know where the support for a bra comes from. It doesn’t come from the straps or the cups, it comes from the back. When I was working in my mother’s underwear business at the time, I advised many women who wore a bra that was much too wide. The rule of thumb is: When the bra is closed in the middle hooks, two fingers should still fit comfortably between the bra and the back. I recommend getting good advice, because we can’t know everything either. In good specialist shops, for example Lascana, you can get friendly and competent advice and badly fitting bras are a thing of the past.
What do you prefer to wear in private, do you prefer it to be comfortable or sexy?
Kirsch: Does one exclude the other? For me, the perfect underwear combines both. It’s no use to me if I wear a bra that I would like to take off immediately, or a pair of panties that pinch with every step.
Many women wear their lingerie to please their partner. How is it with you?
Kirsch: I wear my beautiful underwear for myself. You can’t believe how much it makes a difference to know for yourself that you are wearing nice underwear. For me that is part of self-love.
What do you think of shapewear and fake underwear?
Kirsch: I think shapewear is one of the best inventions ever! I feel comfortable and safe in it and I love to wear it!
Can you still remember your very first lingerie shoot, how was that back then?
Kirsch: Yes, that was great! I had on a great set of lingerie and felt super sexy.
You also like to show yourself on Instagram in underwear. Do you seem to feel completely at ease in your body?
Kirsch: Definitely! I love my body and it looks even better in nice lingerie.
What tip do you have for all women with non-model figures who do not like to show themselves in sexy lingerie?
Kirsch: Anyone who has ever worn beautiful underwear that fits well has no reason to doubt. So go ahead, ladies! Get advice from specialist shops such as Lascana, treat yourself to a nice lingerie set and feel in your body as it is: beautiful!
Could you imagine designing a lingerie collection yourself?
Kirsch: That is actually a very big wish of mine. Especially in large sizes, there is so little beautiful selection that fits well. So I would love to do it. For me, laundry is mostly something we do for ourselves. The most beautiful “above” only looks half as good if the “below” does not fit. Yes, I would love to design beautiful underwear for all women.
