In 1995, the native of North Rhine-Westphalia (Wessling) published his first book, the ad says. He created more than 4,300 cartoons under the title “Perscheid’s abysses”. Above all, the publisher raves about it: “His fearlessness of looking into the human abyss of sexism, racism, ignorance, corruption and stupidity and the way he captured all of this with biting mockery and raven-black humor in cartoons was unique.”

In the obituary notice, the Caricatura Gallery in Kassel also refers to the many awards with which “one of the most important cartoonists of our time” was honored: “Max & Moritz Prize” (2002) for the best German comic series, third place in the ” German Cartoon Award “(2006) and third place in the” German Cartoon Award “(2018).
