Prince Harry’s memoir: Confusion over release date

Prince Harry’s memoir: Confusion over release date

Prince Harry’s memoir is said to be about his “ups and downs” and the man he’s become. Now the Sussexes have split from their spokesperson. The publication date of the book: uncertain.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are busy preparing for next month’s celebrations. Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee is just around the corner, for which her grandson Prince Harry will be arriving with his family. This year, however, the Sussexes are exempt from the traditional balcony wave. Only family members working on behalf of the Crown receive this honor. But the public is concerned with a completely different topic: where are Prince Harry’s eagerly awaited memoirs? The “intimate and heartfelt memoir” was set to be released this year. The book’s release date is uncertain.

Which could also be related to the fact that the person who was entrusted with the book no longer works for the couple. The Sussexes have parted ways with their global press secretary, Toya Holness, who took up the role in March last year. She is one of twelve top employees who have left Harry and Meghan’s company since 2018.

Release date: uncertain

A spokeswoman for Penguin Random House, where Prince Harry plans to publish his book, told The Times they have no release date and will not confirm if the book will be released later this year as planned. The Duke’s spokeswoman also gave a similar answer.

Speaking about his memoir, Prince Harry said he would write “not as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become.”

Last year, Penguin Random House announced that the Duke would be writing a memoir that was “tentatively scheduled for publication in late 2022.” The 37-year-old is said to have received an advance of several million euros for the books. The proceeds are to be donated to charity.

Prince Harry’s memoirs are feared in the royal family

In Buckingham Palace, on the other hand, the book is feared: Harmful revelations have no place in the Queen’s jubilee year. The Queen’s celebrations should not be overshadowed by this. It could be a reason why the release date is not known yet. Or Prince Harry would like to weave his experience of the platinum jubilee into his memoirs. Maybe about the fact that for the first time he is not allowed to stand on the balcony with his grandmother.
