Good news for the vaccination campaign in Germany: The Federal Ministry of Health has announced additional deliveries from the US manufacturer Moderna.
According to the Federal Ministry of Health, significantly more doses from the manufacturer Moderna can be expected for the corona vaccinations in the third quarter than originally announced.
In July, instead of the 733,000 planned, 1.33 million cans are to be delivered each week. 2.57 million doses per week are expected in August and 2.95 million per week in September.
According to the new figures, the US manufacturer plans to deliver a total of 5.32 million vaccine doses in July, 10.28 million in August and 14.5 million in September. This gives the vaccination campaign an additional boost, said a ministry spokesman.
In the coming week, in addition to other deliveries already planned, five million doses of the vaccine from Astrazeneca and one million doses from Johnson & Johnson are to go to vaccination centers in the countries as well as to medical practices and company doctors.
