Music: Taylor Swift with an enigmatic video for a new album

A safe full of letters and irritating music – a new video by pop star Taylor Swift puzzles its fans.

US pop star Taylor Swift (31) puzzles her fans with a video for her new album “Red (Taylor’s Version)”.

The short video sequence that Swift published on Twitter and Instagram on Thursday (local time) shows a safe opening and coming out of the letters that – apparently – form incomprehensible words. In addition, singing can be heard that sounds as if it is being played backwards. The singer writes vaguely: «… presses send», «laughs madly» and «Level: casually cruel in the name of honesty».

Fans shared pictures on social media of their attempts to form meaningful terms or names in the jumble of letters in the video. Swift announced in June that her album “Red” from 2012 will be released on November 19 in a newly recorded version. The new album contains 30 songs, one of which is ten minutes long.

“Red (Taylor’s Version)” is Swift’s eleventh album. In April, the multiple Grammy winner released a new edition of her album “Fearless”.

In 2019 Swift announced that she wanted to re-record old music as “Taylor’s Version” after a dispute over the music rights to her previous albums. Between 2006 and 2017, the singer released her first six studio albums on Big Machine before moving to Universal Music. There was then a bitter dispute over the rights to these albums.
