Because of the corona pandemic, there is no Pirelli calendar for this year. The next edition is already advertising with a star lineup.
Pop icon Cher (75), rocker Iggy Pop (74) and singer Rita Ora (30): Images of prominent musicians adorn the 2022 edition of the famous Pirelli calendar.
The photographer is the singer Bryan Adams (61), who put his colleagues in Los Angeles and on the Italian island of Capri in perspective.
Together with the Italian tire manufacturer, the Canadian has chosen a suitable title: “On The Road”. “I’ve been on the road for 45 years, because the life of a musician consists of streets, traveling, waiting in hotels, hours behind the stage,” Adams was quoted as saying.
Corresponding motifs can now be found in the calendar. The British Rita Ora sits on a car seat, US rapper Saweetie (28) holds her passport in the camera, and Cher poses in a locker room.
The calendar has existed since 1964. The British subsidiary of the tire company had the idea to boost sales. For years the photos were considered to be the epitome of nude photography. In the meantime, however, it has largely developed away from the erotic representation. No calendar was published for 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
