The Argentinian Cake Festival is held in this town. 4. San Antonio de Areco.

In the middle of the humid pampa, on the banks of the Areco stream and bordered by a pleasant waterfront, stands one of the oldest and most traditional towns in the province of Buenos Aires: San Antonio de Areco. Located 113 km from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, this picturesque town is the one that best synthesizes the charm of gaucho life and its customs. Founded under the protection of a chapel inaugurated by Don José Ruiz de Arellano in 1730, it has managed to preserve over time the architectural lines of the colonial and Renaissance constructions of the early nineteenth century.

To get to San Antonio de Areco from Buenos Aires, the fastest and safest road is the Pan-American Highway, National Route No. 9 and, at the second fork, turn for the North Access, on the left side, to the town of Pilar, where you must take National Route No. 8 to the desired destination. Here, the visitor manages to connect with the life of the gaucho by getting to know the Creole Park, the Ricardo Güiraldes Gaucho Museum, the Usina Vieja Cultural Center, the Old Bridge and the Carlos Merti Flora and Fauna Park, among other attractions. In the case of May 25, gastronomic establishments always offer ad hoc menus, and this will not be the exception.

5. Mercedes.

Located just 100 km from the Federal Capital, Mercedes is a ideal mini-tourism center for people who want to spend a dynamic weekend or a few days in the country surrounded by a beautiful natural environment. Popularly known for the delicious delicacies that are usually tasted in the country restaurants of the neighboring town of Tomás Jofre, the city of Mercedes offers numerous alternatives for agritourism, sports activities, baptism flights or visits to the different cultural centers.
