Cannes – With a red carpet packed with celebrities, from Gael García Bernal to Jake Gyllenhaal, passing through Isabelle Huppert and Rossy de Palma, the Cannes Film Festival yesterday celebrated its 75th anniversary gala. Among all of them, there were artists for whom the festival has been a decisive step in their career, such as Paolo Sorrentino (Jury Prize for ”Il Divo” in 2008). For veteran French director Claude Lelouch, “Cannes represents a life of cinema, I was born here for the second time in 1966 (after receiving the Palme d’Or for “A Man and a Woman”), I love this festival, I owe it everything”. Several Latin American filmmakers, such as the Mexican Guillermo del Toro or the Brazilian Kleber Mendonça, were also at the gala. And of course, the crews of various films in competition, such as David Cronenberg, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart, of “Crimes of the future” (whose graphic violence, referring to the removal of organs from the body, caused many viewers to leave the projection and others will condemn her to the exit).
