After a month-long break, it starts: The Friedrichstadt-Palast wants to reopen to visitors. And in the meantime has prepared something.
The Berlin Friedrichstadt-Palast opens its doors again after almost a year and a half. This Saturday (August 7th) the first preview of the new glitter show “Arise” will start – it is about a photographer and his muse.
Artist Tom Neuwirth (“Conchita Wurst”) worked on two songs. The official premiere is planned for September 22nd.
The Berlin theaters had to close in March 2020 to contain the spread of the corona virus. The Friedrichstadt-Palast then announced that it would not reopen until the following year. The reason was renovation work that was actually planned for 2022, but was brought forward because of the mandatory break.
The theater on Friedrichstrasse is known for its glittering revues. During the closing time, the team was working on the new show. For the time being, they keep their distance in the hall. So the spectators sit in a checkerboard pattern. In addition, a mask is required up to the site. Guests must also show that they have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative.
