Nursery Renovation

Visit to the Graef Refuge to learn about the history of the mountain
Chapelco honors its history and wants to share it with those who visit the mountain. Starting this winter, all skiers and snowboarders who access Platform 1700 will be able to visit the historic Graef Refuge and, through a QR code, learn about the history of the Chapelco pioneers who built this legendary refuge, climbing the mountain on foot. There is also the sculpture of Américo Astete, a living legend of this history, which Chapelco inaugurated in 2021 as a tribute to all its pioneers. Knowing and honoring our history is to strengthen the roots, and inspire future generations of mountaineers.
Chapelco Tetrathlon 35th Anniversary Edition
The most emblematic multidiscipline race in Argentina will offer a special edition to celebrate its 35th anniversary. This competition, the first to include skiing as a discipline combined with other mountain sports, and the only one with 35 uninterrupted editions, will take place on August 27. Its format includes 4 disciplines: skiing, mountain biking, kayaking and running in the most impressive natural settings of Cerro Chapelco, Lanín National Park, and San Martín de los Andes. In Chapelco, tailor-made services for everyone
The Ski and Snowboard School offers different plans so that people of all levels can learn in the snow or improve their technique, with group or individual classes. Children from 3 to 5 years old attend the Snow Garden where they take their first steps on the boards at the hands of specialized instructors. Boys from 6 to 15 years old have the Junior Academy, where they participate in group classes, grouped by age and level, with lunch included and end-of-year snow race. Chapelco also offers adapted ski classes for people with different abilities, with trained personnel and equipment so that everyone can
enjoy in the snow.
For those who choose to discover other ways to have fun in the snow, Chapelco offers snowmobile rides, sledding with huskies and snowshoe hikes through forest trails.

Fly Chapelco: both in the snow and in the sky
Three activities combine skiing and snowboarding with flying in different disciplines.
- snow kiting: Chapelco offers the possibility of learning and practicing snowkiting in its Kite Park located in Pradera del Puma, with the help of specialized instructors, to “fly” in the snow using the power of the wind. All people with an intermediate or advanced level of skiing or snowboarding can practice it, using a glider attached to a harness to fly and at the same time slide on the snow with both skis and a snowboard.
- Paragliding: Chapelco offers this winter the possibility of paragliding with specialized instructors. Depending on the wind conditions, the flights are made from the summit or from El Balcón, to descend on a flight with the best views of the mountain range.
- Expedition to C4: An extreme experience, with the participation of the most outstanding riders in the country who come to live a day of snowkiting in the wonderful 800-hectare plateau, located at 2000 m high on the 4th summit of the Chapelco range called “C4”, to which they arrive in
helicopter from the Chapelco base. The expedition is organized by the Snowkite School, together with the Chapelco Patrol. It will end with a freeride descent on skis or snowboard, down an 800-meter drop through a lenga forest, until reaching a place where a Patagonian lamb and a gourmet gastronomic experience will be shared. Chapelco expanded its menu of inns and refuges in the mountains, offering new and comfortable meeting options with outdoor spaces, which is the purest air on the planet. These are all the alternatives.
At the base:
- Nikito, meeting point with a good cocktail bar, Corona beer happy hour, sandwiches, super hot dogs, and live shows with outdoor DJs, to put music to La Base.
- Mujicas Coffeeat the base, a food truck to start the day with breakfast in the open air, or down the hill, and enjoy brownies, cakes and sweet bites with coffee, tea and chocolate.

On Platform 1500 you will find The Mountain Hut which is reached by the Camino sobre el Balcón track, with exterior decks on both levels, living rooms in front of fireplaces and salamanders. And of course, the inevitable cocktail bar, of the classics and author. The gastronomic proposal is oriented to the typical flavors, to the warmth of the fires and to recreate the atmosphere of our house, with good music.
And at Platform 1600, at the gondola exit, Parador Deck 1600, with a heated globe for indoor dining, and two outdoor decks. eat homemade soups, mountain stews, all kinds of sandwiches and salads, cakes, chocolates and, on special days, surprise with grilled goats or lamb in the snow. In the same place, complete the open-air mountain food court, two options of “Chapelco Trucks” one beer and another with cakes, empanadas, super hot dogs and a veggie menu with several options.
