The meeting of Katrin Paucz, Michael “Mile” Lechner and Marco Kleebauer can be considered a stroke of luck. Because what the three musically conjure up as a Sharktank is refreshingly natural and above all triviality. Their songs are simply of timeless goodness.
To have fun. Not an easy matter in a time when many gloomy images haunt people’s minds and some people wonder where this is all going to lead. The trio is having fun. You can hear that in many moments in the 13 songs of their fantastic debut “Get It Done”. Nothing here looks like a drawing board or planning carried out down to the last detail, but rather the ease of letting go of what wants to go. A lot sounds as if it would arise spontaneously out of the situation, as if you were listening to a session of three musicians who are constantly passing the creative balls to each other.
It was probably the same at the beginning, when rapper Mile took a seat in producer Marco Kleebauer’s studio for his solo project a year ago. They quickly got along well and found that the missing “something” seemed to be found in Katrin Paucz, the singer and guitarist of the band Oehl produced by Kleebauer. Only one feature was planned, and it became a new band.
The fact that the three of them are making their musical mark in various other projects makes it possible to explain why Sharktank’s songs work so well. Because they are multi-faceted and, above all, have a constant in Katrin Paucz’s vocal expression that is special. Somehow your heart opens when she sings. How well this works in cooperation with the gentlemen can be heard, for example, in the grandiose “007”, where each of the three sets their scent marks, but the unity can be seen in the overall picture of the song.

“Eye Song”, “Washed Up”, “For Myself”, “Get It Down” – the looseness of Sharktank is so contagious that you can quickly bob along with it while dancing. The melodies mill their way into the subconscious, only to be acknowledged hours later with a spontaneous smile. The texts that arise in the interplay between Katrin and Michael are not always as easy as one might assume. It’s about life with its realities, which have a bitter aftertaste. There are so many dark corners lurking in the network of relationships that you cannot escape from, even if you would rather stand in the light. And it is also about doubting and the sometimes self-destructive handling, which some are not entirely unfamiliar with.
“Get It Done” combines happiness and melancholy, feelings of happiness and thoughtfulness in a way that always shines brightly. Because life can also be fun. That’s how it should be. Thanks to Sharktank, you understand that too.
