Series star from “Trapper John, MD”
Siebert, who began his career in the theater in San Francisco after training as an actor, became known primarily as Dr. Stanley Riverside II, who he portrayed in all seven seasons of the CBS hospital series Trapper John, MD. His character, the chief of emergency services at San Francisco Memorial Hospital, often clashed with surgeon “Trapper” John McIntyre, played by Pernell Roberts (1928-2010). The 151-episode series aired from 1979 to 1986. Siebert also directed some episodes.
The actor was also able to get a few roles in the cinema during his career, including films such as “The Other Side of Midnight” (1977), “Blue Sunshine” (1977), “… And Justice for All” (1979) or “Eight Men Out ” (1988). In 1992, he relocated to Sonoma County, California, and continued to perform and direct in the area. He leaves behind his second wife Kristine Leroux Siebert, daughter Gillian and son Christopher.
