The Autobahn GmbH of the German federal government has awarded Strabag the contract for the six-lane expansion of the federal motorway (BAB) 8 in the Enztal near Pforzheim. The order on the main traffic axis between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart has a volume of more than 100 million euros, said Strabag on Monday. The construction project envisages the full expansion of a 4.8 km long section of the motorway between the Pforzheim-Nord and -Sd junctions, the construction of six bridges and underpasses and the construction of noise protection enclosures.
Three German subsidiaries of Strabag SE will implement the project: Strabag GmbH is in charge, teams from Ed. Zblin AG and Zblin Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Construction will start in September and the entire project should be completed by the end of 2026.
