He called the corona pandemic “shit”, vaccinating “fake bullshit” and the virologist Anthony Fauci a “lying freak”: Now the US radio presenter and Donald Trump fan Dick Farrel has died – of Covid-19.
When it caught him himself, he changed his mind, but by then it was already too late: The right-wing US radio presenter and vaccination opponent Dick Farrel died at the age of 65 as a result of corona disease, as reported among other things.
“Covid took one of my best friends from me! RIP Dick Farrel. He’s the reason I got the injection!” Wrote Farrel’s close friend Amy Leigh Hair on her Facebook page. “He texted me and said, ‘Get the vaccination’! He told me this virus was not a joke and he said, ‘I wish I had it!'”.
Hair told WBTV: “I was one of those people like him who didn’t trust the vaccine. I trusted my immune system.” Then her fear of contracting Covid-19 became greater than the fear of possible side effects of the vaccine. “I’m glad I got the vaccine.”
Dick Farrel relied on provocation and incitement
Farrel was one of the so-called “shock jocks”, presenters who provoke insults and defamation in their programs and spread conspiracy stories and lies. At the beginning of July, before his own illness taught him better, he described corona vaccinations on Facebook as “bogus bullshit”. He later wrote, “Why take a vaccine that is advertised by people who have lied to you all along about masks, the origin of the virus and the death toll?”
Farrel called the prominent US virologist Anthony Fauci a “power-mad, lying freak”. He claimed the Democrats were plotting to create the appearance that the pandemic would continue for them to come to power, calling Covid-19 a “crappy pandemic”.
The moderator was also an ardent supporter of ex-President Donald Trump and spread his lie that Joe Biden and the Democrats cheated in last November’s election and that Trump was the real winner. He also agitated against the “Black Lives Matter” movement and propagated right-wing ideas. On his Facebook page, numerous posts are provided with warnings from the social network.
Farrel had mainly worked for well-known radio stations in Florida and was also the moderator for the right-wing populist website “Newsmax”.
