There were 53,000 people who filled last night for a unique concert at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, checking the good form of the band members in a concert acclaimed today by the local and international press.
Just yesterday was also the birthday of another member, Ron Woodwho celebrated it on stage with a Happy Birthday for his 75 years, the youngest of the band -Jagger and Keith Richards they are 78-.
“It’s our first tour of Europe without Charlie, we miss him,” Jagger said in Spanish before singing. “Sad, sad, sad”, and after projecting at the beginning of the concert images of him as a tribute. The tour is the first for Watts’ replacement on drums, Steve Jordan.
Almost three hours lasted the first concert of the tour “Sixty Stones Europe 2022” that started with “Street Fighting Man”which was followed “19th Nervous Breakdown“, and its classic and incombustible themes one after another that made the devoted public vibrate.
One of the moments that deserves a separate paragraph was that the band performed the song live for the first time “Out of Time”originally recorded in 1966. The song was on the UK edition of the album aftermath. It was later popularized by Chris Farlowewho released a version that same year produced by Jagger himself.
“The Rolling Stones’ Ultimate Immortality Lesson” (Abc) and “The last miracle of the Rolling Stones in Madrid” (El Mundo) are some of today’s headlines in the Spanish press.
