Corona horror: The third wave is raging in Russia – and the Kremlin is using compulsory vaccinations

The hospitals are overcrowded. A new record of corona deaths is reported every day. The situation in Russia is deteriorating rapidly. But the government doesn’t know what to do other than force Sputnik V on people.

While Europe breathes a sigh of relief, the third corona wave is raging in Russia more violently than ever before. Hardly a day goes by without a new sad record being reported. Moscow authorities reported 144 deaths within 24 hours on Sunday – more than any other city in the country since the pandemic began, according to Russian news agencies. The European Championship venue St. Petersburg had only recorded a peak on Saturday with 107 deaths.

The number of infections now exceeds the 20,000 mark per day. The real numbers are likely to be far higher than the official figures. There is still little testing, especially in the regions outside the big cities. The authorities and hospitals are also doing their best to improve the statistics. Again and again they expose themselves to be forgeries by different authorities issuing extremely different numbers.

Last Thursday, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communication and Mass Media of the Russian Federation announced that it wanted to provide all citizens who have already survived coronavirus and have recovered with QR codes by June 30th, which are about Visits to restaurants can be shown. . In doing so, he relied on a register of the Russian Ministry of Health.

An astonishing number – although according to official information from the authority responsible for the coronavirus on Sunday, the number of people who have recovered since the start of the pandemic was 4,956,714.

Hospitals hopelessly overcrowded – patients billeted in the corridors

A look at the hospitals and clinics in the country reveals that the actual infection rate does not correspond to the official statistics. These are hopelessly overcrowded. In some places, patients are quartered on folding beds in the corridors of the clinics, such as Marina Alawerdjan. For the 49-year-old there was nowhere else in the Covid hospital, as reported.

The situation is deteriorating rapidly. And that although hardly a day goes by without the opening of a new corona center being announced. Whether, Tver, or – new Covid clinics are being set up all over Russia. But these fill up within a few hours.

A case from Vladimir caused a particular stir. There, an ambulance team brought a patient suspected of having the coronavirus in front of the regional administration building and switched on the blue light. The doctors wanted to have the man admitted to hospital, who had previously been refused admission by all hospitals in the region – even though the patient was in critical condition. According to the doctors, one of his lungs failed and he could not breathe on his own.

However, the action was successful. After the blue light in front of the regional administration drew the press, a place was found for the patient in a hospital in Murom, 130 kilometers from Vladimir.

Government in Russia is making vaccinations compulsory

The government is responding to the appalling pandemic situation with an aggressive vaccination campaign. Although Vladimir Putin once promised that there would be no compulsory vaccination, it has already been introduced in 15 regions of the country: including the regions of Moscow, Murmansk, Kemerovo, Sakhalin, Leningrad, Tula, Tver, Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar.

Those who refuse to be vaccinated face sanctions. The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotjakov, clarified the government’s official position: “An employee who has not received the mandatory vaccination can be released.” The exemption, in which no wages are paid, can last as long as the vaccination requirement exists.

In Moscow, companies where fewer than 60 percent of workers are vaccinated are threatened with closure. In Yakutia, citizens who do not get vaccinated are fined up to 40,000 rubles – for the average citizen, it is two months’ salary.

In the capital, “routine medical care, such as operations, is forbidden for people who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus before going to hospital,” said the Ministry of Health. was the headline of the Moscow daily newspaper “Nesawisimaja Gazeta”.

Russians don’t want to be vaccinated with Sputnik

Vaccine skepticism remains high in Russia regardless of all the threatening consequences. Despite intensive propaganda for their own vaccines, many Russians do not want to be vaccinated at all. In addition to Sputnik V, preparations from two other state producers are also used, Epivakorona and Kovivak, but much less often than Sputnik V.

Russia is promoting Sputnik V with the slogan “A vaccine for all of humanity”: But so far the vaccine has remained scarce, even in Russia itself In the absence of vaccines, they have to be exposed – although there is a compulsory vaccination.

Experts see the Russians’ unwillingness to vaccinate primarily as a sign of distrust of their own government. “Lies are the main reason why vaccinations are rejected,” said opposition politician Vladimir Ryzhkov in an interview. The whole country still clearly has the Kremlin’s declaration in mind that the coronavirus has been defeated. “When the president announces that we have defeated Covid and then it turns out that Covid is defeating us, the lie is obvious.”

Does the regime want to vaccinate the population of Russia against Corona? Or does the regime want to vaccinate the population with Sputnik V?

As the situation worsens, vaccines from abroad remain banned. “The question arises: Does the regime want to vaccinate the population of Russia against Corona? Or does the regime want to vaccinate the population with Sputnik V?”, The Russian journalist and publicist Alexander Newsorov gives food for thought and provides the answer himself. “When it comes to protecting the population, why only with Sputnik, who has a scandalous reputation and is not recognized as a vaccine by the civilized world?”
