Britain’s Prince Andrew has been sued for sexually abusing a minor in the United States. The alleged victim Virginia Giuffre stated in the civil suit that she was “loaned” to the son of Queen Elizabeth II by the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as a minor.
A woman who accuses Britain’s Prince Andrew, 61, of molesting her as a minor has filed a lawsuit in a court in New York, according to US media reports. With the lawsuit, Virginia Giuffre accuses Queen Elizabeth II’s second eldest son of sexual abuse of a minor and is demanding compensation, reported TV broadcaster ABC on Monday, citing Giuffre and her lawyers. Inquiries from the German Press Agency initially went unanswered. According to ABC, Andrew initially did not want to comment on a spokesman for the lawsuit.
Giuffre had repeatedly accused the prince of having abused her as a minor. The then 17-year-old was according to her complaint by Epstein, Maxwell and Prince Andrew “against her will to have sexual intercourse with Prince Andrew”. Andrew had always denied that.

Giuffre, who had previously spoken publicly about her allegations, said of the lawsuit: “I will hold Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me.” The powerful and the rich are not immune to being held accountable for their actions. The 38-year-old did not take the decision to sue lightly because she expected attacks from the prince.
The incident is related to the abuse scandal involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in prison in 2019. Prince Andrew was several overnight guests at Epstein’s home in the USA and the Caribbean. He does not want to have heard of the machinations of his friend and his ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently waiting for her trial in a New York prison.
Andrew has promised to help all the relevant investigative authorities – but has not yet testified before the New York prosecutor despite all inquiries. Most recently, Andrew had come under increasing pressure in Great Britain because of his alleged involvement in the Epstein scandal, had given up all public duties for the royals and barely appeared in public.
