TV magazine “tele” expands climate initiative

“Before we keep telling people what a great TV magazine we’ve been producing for more than 30 years, we’d rather do our part for climate protection,” says Hans Metzger. The managing director of the TV magazine “tele”, which is also included in the OÖ Nachrichten every Thursday, started an initiative for climate protection three years ago.

Every week prominent actors, cabaret artists, authors, musicians or climate experts draw attention to the need for a campaign against climate change. Metzger has now published thoughts from 33 authors in the book This World Is Still To Be Saved, with a foreword by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Now Hans Metzger is expanding his climate initiative. Why, Herr Metzger? “Three years ago, it became very clear to me personally that civil society had to do a lot more to protect the climate.” That is why the campaign “More primeval forest for Austria” was founded. The forest of the Altenburg Abbey near Horn in Lower Austria can now be bought through the Climate Initiative association. The pen guarantees that the purchased surfaces will be preserved for 100 years. One square meter of CO2-storing “jungle” costs one euro. Further forest partners in all federal states are to follow.
