Fundraising: 11 year old has been sleeping in the tent for 500 nights

It would start in March 2020: An eleven-year-old Brit spent the night in a tent to collect donations for a hospice. Until today, open end.

An 11-year-old boy in England has slept in a tent for 500 consecutive nights – with no intention of stopping anytime soon.

“It doesn’t feel that long because so much has happened since I started camping,” said 11-year-old Max Woosey from the English brown tone of the Guardian. “I never thought I would last that long, but I love it.”

In March 2020, when the first corona lockdown began in England, Max started sleeping in the tent and raising funds for the North Devon Hospice nearby. The goal was 100 pounds – in the meantime more than 540,000 pounds (the equivalent of around 638,555 euros) have been collected. The Woosey family had seen their neighbors suffering from cancer being cared for in the hospice. Before his death, the neighbor gave Max a tent – with the invitation to go on an adventure with it.

The tent is no longer the same after hundreds of nights, but the mission has remained the same. Further donations are still being received on the JustGiving website. According to the report, the amount collected is already twice as high as what the hospice lost in donations due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, there is no end in sight for Max, who has even been invited to spend the night in the London Zoo and the Downing Street garden: “I have no intention of stopping now. I like to be outside and closer to nature. If it’s no longer fun, I’ll come in. But I can’t imagine that. “
