Silvia Schneider – once a dancing star, always a dancing star

Her voice sounds a little tired, but you can clearly hear the joy: For two days, Silvia Schneider danced with Danilo Campisi at the “International Dance Festival Amazing Vienna” in Vienna’s Intercontinental Hotel – and won.

The couple, who also made it to the final of the ORF Dancing Stars, won two Austrian championship titles in standard and Latin in their age group in the “Pro-Am” category of this professional dance tournament. In addition, there were two runner-up titles in the international ranking.

On Sunday, therefore, it was first of all “to freak out, because I’m pretty exhausted”, says Silvia Schneider during a phone call with the OÖN.

No wonder, because even if everything looks so easy: Dancing is extremely exhausting and sweaty. “A real high-performance sport, but also incredibly great,” enthuses Schneider. “I am so happy to have found this sport for myself.” The presenter discovered her love for it with the “Dancing Stars”. “Back then, a dream came true,” says the 39-year-old. “Dancing makes me extremely happy and has a liberating effect. That’s why I don’t give up anymore.”

The Linz native also accepts a lot for her success: “Danilo and I train three or four times a week for sure – there is no other way,” says Silvia Schneider. And one day of rest has to be enough – the next dance lesson, which is already planned for today, Monday.
