Taylor said in the interview that they had “forgotten a little bit” about the tune, calling it “wonderful” and a “real find”. She then teased, “I think it will come out in September.”

May added: “It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we really can’t salvage that.’ But actually, we went back in and our wonderful engineering team said, ‘Okay, we can do this and this.’ It’s like putting pieces together… But it’s beautiful. It’s moving.

“It’s a very exciting piece,” Taylor agreed.

In its 1989 review, Rolling Stone called The Miracle also “bogged down by synths and drum machines”. But, the magazine’s review praised the lead singer’s contributions.

“Basically, The Miracle is a showcase for Freddie Mercury and his love of sweeping, almost operatic vocals. And indeed, Mercury, especially on the title track, has never sounded better,” the review says.

That’s a good sign for fans waiting “Face It Alone”.
