Quentin Tarantino: He confirms cinema retirement after 10th film again

Ten films were always Quentin Tarantino’s target. Now the director has confirmed again that he will quit after his tenth film.

After the next film, it’s over for good! For years, director Quentin Tarantino (58) has been emphasizing that he will retire after his tenth film. His ninth film, “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” was released in theaters in the summer of 2019. His plan confirmed “You are too young to quit and you are at the top of your industry”, show host Maher (65) tried to persuade his guest. “That’s the reason why I want to quit,” he replied.

“Directors don’t get better”

“Because I know the history of the film and directors don’t get any better from now until the end,” Tarantino said of his decision. Any attempts by his interlocutor to convince him otherwise failed miserably. “Working for 30 years and making as many films as me is not as much as other people have done, but it’s a long career. It’s a really long career. And I’ve given all I have” says the filmmaker.

Nothing is known about the last film by the Oscar winner. However, he revealed that he was considering doing a remake of his 1992 debut “Reservoir Dogs”: “I won’t do it, dear Internet! But I’ve thought about it.” Tarantino’s most successful films include “Pulp Fiction” (1994), “Kill Bill” (2003) and “Inglourious Basterds” (2009).
