Justin Bieber facial paralysis
The Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a complication of shingles -caused by the herpes zoster virus-, which occurs when an outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of the ears. It can cause hearing loss in addition to facial paralysis.
“As you can see, this eye is not blinking, I can’t smile on this side of my face and this nostril is not moving,” Bieber explained on the recording.
“I have complete paralysis on this side of my face. For those who are frustrated that my upcoming concerts have been canceled, I am obviously physically unable to do them. As you can see, this is quite serious,” he said.
The “Peaches” singer said he’s doing facial exercises and taking advantage of “rest and relaxation” so he can get back to 100% and do what he was born to do. Bieber did not specify an estimated time for his recovery.
This is the third time Bieber’s tour has been postponed. The first two were due to the coronavirus pandemic.
