Falafel recipe, the typical food of the Middle East

Flavor explosion! It is a typical Middle Eastern recipe. We could describe it as a kind of chickpea meatball, which is usually taken into account in vegetarian menus.

Surely you will see many recipes going around but this is: the richest! It’s a little fattening, but it’s worth it.

Ingredients:

  • Chickpeas, 1k
  • Fresh chopped parsley, 3 teaspoons
  • Fresh chopped cilantro, 2 teaspoons
  • Garlic, 4 cloves
  • Baking soda, 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin, 2 teaspoons
  • Cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon

Process:

  • Let the chickpeas soak for 24 hours
  • Process all the ingredients (the mixture has to be like a coarse sandblasting).
  • Let rest 1 hour. Make little balls and fry them.
  • Preparation time: 50 minutes (+ 24 hours of soaking the chickpeas).
  • Cooking time: 30 minutes
  • Number of servings: 4

Tip: It goes very well with a Greek-type yogurt sauce, very fresh, with lemon and mint.
