Over the weekend, Barack Obama celebrated his 60th birthday on the popular east coast island of Martha’s Vineyard. There were top-class guests – but two were missing: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.
Barack Obama’s 60th birthday party last weekend became a celebrity magnet. Oprah Winfrey celebrated with the Obamas, John Legend serenaded, Bruce Springsteen was there and Jay Z and Beyoncé Knowles.
Meghan and Harry not invited to Barack Obama
Actually, only two names were missing to complete the guest list: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry. After all, Harry and Michelle Obama have gotten along well for years. Meghan and Barack Obama also have their birthday on the same day, she just turned 40. But the duke couple is missing from the 457-person list.
As Royal expert Angela Levin writes in the British newspaper “The Sun”, Meghan is said to have been disappointed. “I was told that while Meghan claimed she couldn’t attend, she was desperate to be a special guest at the Obama’s amazing party,” said Levin. As the newspaper explains, the Obamas should not have invited the Sussexes in order not to upset the Queen.
The two are on parental leave
Meghan and Harry close sources have told the US portal “Page Six”, however, that the two do not go to any events, after all, they are still on parental leave after their daughter Lilibet Diana was born in June.
Meghan should still not have been bored. Instead of celebrating her own birthday, the Duchess published her “40×40” promotion together with actress Melissa McCarthy. Behind it is: 40 famous women – including Adele, Amanda Gorman and Princess Eugenie – offer themselves as mentors for 40 women who have stumbled professionally due to the pandemic. And they donate, exactly, 40 minutes of their time.
