Kardashian was still able to convince those responsible and presented the Monroe dress at the Met Gala. But now the valuable piece is said to be damaged. US historian and Monroe expert Scott Fortner posted before and after photos on his Instagram account. This clearly shows that some of the crystals are missing or loose. His accusation: Kim Kardashian destroyed the dress. “Was it worth it?” he asked and linked the museum “Ripley’s”. Fortner was one of numerous pundits who publicly criticized Kardashian for appearing in the iconic dress at the Met Gala.

However, the British newspaper “Daily Mail” claims to have learned from Kardashian’s environment that she rejects the allegations. The dress was already defective when the museum bought it at auction in November 2016.
“I have great respect for the dress and its importance to American history. I would never want to sit in it or eat in it or risk damaging it, nor will I wear that kind of body makeup that I usually use,” Kardashian told Vogue on the sidelines of the Met Gala in May.
She ended up wearing the Monroe dress for just fifteen minutes on the red carpet, after which she changed into a less expensive replica. Now, for 15 minutes of glory, the damage could be pretty big.
