In addition, in this winter season 2022, tourists will be able to enjoy the first advances of the modernization plan of the ski center, which will have a new means of elevation, among others to be installed, renovated slopes, improvements in the snow-making system and a modern avalanche prevention system.
With the accompanying weather and snowfalls that dye the city and the hill white, the slopes are in perfect condition to enjoy not only activities such as skiing and snowboarding, but also for those who wish to go snowshoeing, donuts, sledding or enjoy a lunch in mountain inns, among others.
In recent years, a new technical snow generation system has been incorporated into Cathedral with the latest technology and innovation, under the high quality standards of TechnoAlpin, the world’s leading company in snow-making systems and equipment. In this way, Catedral currently has technical snow generation with 20 cannons between the Plaza Oertle sector and the base.
The ski center will open the base sector every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., last ascent from the base at 4:30 p.m. Like every year, the city offers a wide range of services such as skiing, gastronomy, walks and activities for pedestrians, rentals, ski schools, among others.
Catedral is currently the most developed ski center in South America, it has 28 lifts and more than 120 kilometers of slopes and paths for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
It is worth mentioning that this year an important part of the master plan has already been carried out, which is designed to improve the operability of Cerro Catedral. At this time, the first stage has already been carried out, the comprehensive project has an investment of USD 22 million. Likewise, and as part of the development of the master plan, the construction of a new six-fold chair is expected in 2023, in addition to the one that already exists at the base of the hill.
