Bill Cosby is tried for alleged abuse of a minor in the ’70s

After two weeks of trial, the woman’s lawyer, Nathan Goldbergasked for his client a compensation of four to eight million in total, according to the specialized site Variety.

“He has not paid for what he did. He has gotten away with it”expressed the lawyer, when justifying the request for financial compensation.

This lawsuit had been filed in 2014 but the comedian’s defense managed to delay his treatment through various devices.

It should be remembered that Cosby has dozens of accusations of sexual abuse and in all cases it is highlighted that he took advantage of the public’s affection and his family image to attack his victims.

Against this background, the actor’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjeanasked the jury to put aside the other cases and focus on “the little credibility” of the account offered by Huth about the events that occurred in 1975.

“Doing what’s right isn’t always popular, and doing what’s popular isn’t always right. I’m not going to credit someone’s story simply because we live in times where ‘if she says it, it must be true.’ The media can do that, and they do,” said the defender.

In the same tone, Bonjean questioned the alleged victim’s delay in making the complaint, hinting that she is only looking for money encouraged by the other cases that came to light and tried to show that there was consent.

To do this, it was based on some inaccuracies in the victims’ account, which their legal representative minimized due to the large amount of time that had passed; in the fact that there had already been a sexual encounter between the two previously; and he even tried to show a photo from the time to emphasize that Huth’s appearance at the time was not too different from that of any Playboy “bunny”.

“These are young women who did not present themselves as girls or even young teenagers”Bonjean said, showing photos from the time. “They looked like many other young women in the Playboy Mansion”.

However, the accusing party recalled that Cosby had told Huth that if asked, say that he was 18 years old, when refuting the argument that the actor did not know the true age of the young woman.

“What is the reason he took her there? Was he looking for new friends to make? They were there because he wanted to have sex and he didn’t care if they were underage or not.”exclaimed the plaintiff’s attorney.

In the two weeks that the oral trial lasted, some witnesses paraded on behalf of the accusation, while Cosby did not attend at any time and only a video was broadcast where he gave his version of the events.

A 2016 testimonial from Hugh Hefnerthe late owner of the Playboy empire, in which he claimed that he had never seen Cosby with minors and that he did not allow the presence of girls under 18 in the famous house.

Now the jury must decide in the next few days, although the deadlines are not reported, and for there to be a verdict, nine of the twelve members of this body must agree.
