Oscar winner and Bond screenwriter Paul Haggis has reportedly been arrested on aggravated sexual assault charges.
Director, screenwriter and producer Paul Haggis (69) faces serious allegations. The two-time Oscar winner arrested in Italy where he was due to attend a film festival. He is accused of serious sexual assault. The alleged victim, a “young foreign woman”, was so injured that she had to seek medical help.
This isn’t the first time such serious allegations have been leveled against haggis. During the #MeToo movement, several women accused him of sexual assault and abuse. However, the Canadian vehemently denies this, including in the current case.
Head behind numerous blockbusters
Haggis took off in Hollywood in 2004. At that time he wrote the screenplay for the four-time Oscar winner “Million Dollar Baby” by and with Clint Eastwood (92). In the same year, he received two golden boys himself for his film “LA Crash”, which he directed and also wrote the script. He also contributed the screenplay for the restart of the “James Bond” series with Daniel Craig (54), “Casino Royale” and its successor “Quantum of Solace”.
