Hemsworth comes from leading blockbuster movies in the skin of Thor -with a new installment that will be released this year- and Kosinski has just released Top Gun: Maverickfilm starring Tom Cruise which grossed millions of dollars worldwide.
The story takes place in a futuristic prison and revolves around two convicts who are deprived of their liberty in the scientific facilities where Dr. Steve Abnesti conducts experiments with powerful drugs capable of altering emotions.
In exchange for reducing their sentence, the prisoners agree to be used to test these medical studies and, as the science fiction film progresses, the protagonists will lose track of their sensations and what they really experienced.

Hemsworth leaves the role of hero to become a villain and for the director the project also involved leaving his comfort zone to try himself in a genre little explored by him.
“It’s a cross-genre film that offered a unique directorial challenge both because of the very contained nature of the story/world and the frenetic performances required from the actors,” he said in an interview with Deadline.
