The new rules should then apply from July 1, it said on request from the Ministry of Health. Among other things, the requirements for visitor limits in homes and hospitals should also fall, media reports confirmed. In addition, an FFP2 mask will no longer have to be worn there; mouth and nose protection (MNS) is sufficient.
Finally dancing again
The new regulations primarily include those measures that the government announced on June 17th. For example, curfew should fall, taking into account the 3-G rule (vaccinated, tested, recovered), dancing in the club and drinking at the bar is possible again. The square meter rules will no longer apply – also in retail.
Where the masks fall
There are far-reaching reliefs in the mask requirement: From July 1st you can do without masks indoors where “3G” applies – i.e. in gastronomy, tourism, cultural and leisure establishments (e.g. fitness studios), sports facilities and at events (with more than 100 people). In public transport, shops and museums (where “3G” does not apply), conventional mouth and nose protection is sufficient. Originally, FFP2 was only planned in nursing homes and hospitals, but this is now being replaced by an MNS obligation.
Events with no upper limits
From July 1st, all events with seating or standing space can take place without upper audience limits and capacity restrictions. This applies to art and culture, but also to the sports sector, including the gastronomic offer. For events there is an obligation to advertise from 100 people and from 500 people a license is required. In the private sector, all contact and distance rules should fall on July 1st.
Relaxation in homes and hospitals
The federal government’s guidelines on visitor limits in homes and hospitals should also fall. And at least in nursing homes, the mask requirement is being relaxed: visitors and staff will no longer have to wear an FFP2 mask, mouth and nose protection (MNS) will be sufficient in the future. It was not yet clear whether the FFP2 obligation would also end in the hospitals. However, operators of nursing homes or hospitals can continue to issue stricter rules for their respective houses.

Further easing from July 22nd
Further relief should then come into force on July 22nd. Then, for example, the abolition of the registration requirement in the catering trade and at events as well as a further relaxation of the MNS obligation are planned.
